Dec. 19, 2014—Kim Dameron, assistant principal at A. Robison Elementary School, was named the new principal at Walker Elementary School on Dec. 18. Dameron replaces Melissa Ehrhardt, who is retiring at the end of the semester.
A 17-year veteran educator, Dameron began her career in Spring ISD for two years as an elementary math and science teacher. She came to CFISD in 2000, teaching math and science at Walker Elementary School for three years before being promoted to math instructional specialist for two years. She served Walker for an additional year as assistant principal before transferring to A. Robison, where she has been an assistant principal since 2006.
She has also held roles as the summer school principal at both Lee (2013) and Lamkin (2014) elementary schools.
Dameron earned her Bachelor of Science in education from Sam Houston State University and her Master of Education from the University of Houston.
“I am beyond blessed for the opportunity to return to Walker Elementary to serve as the principal,” Dameron said. “I am looking forward to connecting with the Walker staff, students and community, and know that we will work together to carry on the great traditions and success in the years to come.”
Dameron will officially begin her new role on Jan. 28, 2015.
